Other Dropbox Addresses
Highrise also has other types of dropbox addresses to give you more flexibility with how you get emails and other information in.
Case and Deal Dropbox Addresses
Each Case or Deal in your account has its own unique dropbox address that can be used to add emails directly to the respective Case or Deal.
You can find each Case or Deal dropbox address across the top of the Case or Deal page.
Each user in your account has their own unique case and deal dropbox addresses.
TIP: Here's a great way to remember your Case and Deal dropbox addresses
Forward or BCC your Case and Deal dropbox addresses
Forward or BCC an email to a Case or Deal dropbox address to save it in Highrise.
Highrise will receive the email and automatically attach it to the correct Case or Deal in your account.
Forwarding emails using commands
Instead of using a Case or Deal dropbox address, you can also forward emails to your personal dropbox address and use a command in the body of the forwarded message to save the email to the correct Case or Deal.
The commands to attach an email to a Case or Deal are:
/case CASE NAME
/deal DEAL NAME
For example, if you wanted to attach an email to a case titled Holiday Party
, forward the email to your main dropbox address and place the following in the body of the forwarded message:
/case Holiday Party
After forwarding an email with a command, you will see the email saved in Highrise.
You can forward emails to any Case or Deal in your account using commands.
Group dropbox addresses
Groups help you organize data and limit permissions within Highrise. Each Group in your account has its own unique dropbox address that can be used when tracking incoming mail.
The Account Owner and admins can find existing Groups by going to the Groups page.
The Group dropbox address will show under the Group name.
Each user in your account has their own unique Group dropbox addresses. For autoforwarding, include +fw along with the group dropbox. When manual forwarding or BCC'ing, just like your main dropbox address, only email addresses that you approve can be used with your Group dropbox addresses.
Manually forwarding with group dropbox addresses
You can manually forward emails to the Group dropbox address.
Incoming emails will be found in Good Morning inbox under the Group name.
Please note: Incoming emails will be private only to the group when using a Group dropbox address. The contact the email is associated with can have separate permissions or be visible by others that aren't part of the Group.
BCC'ing group dropbox addresses
You can BCC a Group dropbox address on outgoing messages to automatically make the email visible to a specific Group.
This can save you time from filing the email after it's sent. Follow these steps to BCC your group dropbox address on an outgoing message.
Tag dropbox addresses
You can BCC or forward an email to Highrise and tag the contact associated with the email at the same time by using a Tag's dropbox address.
For example, if you're using Highrise to run your help desk, you might want to autoforward all emails sent to your support address to a Tag dropbox address. Then you can easily filter by people who have emailed your support team.
Find a tag's dropbox address
Each Tag has its own dropbox address. Go to the Tags
link on the right side of your Contacts tab.
Select a tag to locate the Tag's dropbox address.
In this example, we're viewing the demo
Tag. Find the Tag dropbox address listed under the Forward emails to this tag
section.
For example, if an email is forwarded or BCC'd to:
dropbox+tag+4452900@55624867.highrisedemo.highrisehq.com
Highrise will add the Tag demo
to the contact associated with the email in the highrisedemo
account.
If the contact already exists in your account, the Tag will be added to the existing contact.
If a contact doesn't yet exist in your account, Highrise will automatically create a new contact from the person in the To:, CC:, or From: field
, Tag the person or people with the demo
Tag, and attach the email to that person or people.
For more information on new contacts added by a dropbox address, read here.
Remember: Each user in your account has their own unique dropbox addresses. Just like your primary dropbox address, only email addresses that you approve can be used with Tag dropbox addresses.

TIP: Why use a tag's dropbox address?
Adding new tags using your dropbox address
If you want to create a new Tag using your main dropbox address, you can forward emails to it while using the Tag command. This is covered in more detail here.
If you’re having trouble forwarding an email into Highrise, the body of the forwarded email must include the contact’s from address (e.g. From: jane.doe@hotmail.com
). Without this From:
part of the email, Highrise won’t be able to associate the email with the right contact. Read more about common dropbox problems.
